I am very proud that, in the year we celebrate KLM’s 95th anniversary, we have been ranked the most sustainable airline in our industry for the 10th consecutive year. We take pride in this achievement, which confirms that we take our responsibility with regard to environmental and societal impact seriously.
Camiel Eurlings, KLM President & CEO

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), the main international index evaluating companies on their performance in terms of sustainable development, has, for the tenth consecutive year, ranked Air France-KLM leader in the “Airlines” category.

Moreover, Air France-KLM is also leader of the broader "Transport" sector, including air, rail, sea and road transport as well as airport operations.

In this way, Air France-KLM joins the 24 most responsible countries in the world, each in their own sector of activity.

To integrate sustainable development into its activities and operations, Air France-KLM is concentrating on four main issues: reducing its environmental impact, integrating sustainable development into its products and services, promoting a responsible human resources policy and contributing to the development of the territories where the Group operates.

Among the innovating initiatives taken recently, Air France-KLM is continuing its initiatives in terms of biofuel by operating several flights using sustainable biofuel. The Group has also invested in the eco-design of inflight products to reduce its CO2 emissions.

*The DJSI includes the most efficient companies in terms of sustainable development, selected by RobecoSAM, a global asset management company that assesses corporate sustainability. A member of the DJSI since 2005, the Group is also included in the non-financial indexes NYSE Euronext Vigeo, Ethibel and FTSE4Good.
