Summary

On Tuesday, 30 April 2013, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands will abdicate and her son Prince Willem-Alexander will be crowned. In honour of the coronation, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will present all its passengers travelling in World Business Class on coronation day a one-off special Delftware miniature replica of the Palace on Dam Square in Amsterdam. The miniatures will be presented on intercontinental flights departing from Amsterdam.

The Palace on Dam Square was built in the 17th century and was originally intended as a city hall to house Amsterdam entire municipal and judicial bodies. They moved into the City Hall in 1655, even though construction was still underway. In those days, Amsterdam was the mercantile capital of the world and it was this status that prompted the building of a bigger and better city call.
