KLM adds Passbook functionality to its mobile app

Summary

Today KLM introduces Passbook in its mobile app. This iOS6 mobile application enables passengers to store their boarding pass together with other coupons, event tickets and store cards.

After checking in for a flight via KLM’s mobile app, the traveler is offered to store his or her e-boarding pass in Passbook. On the flight date the boarding pass automatically pops-up on the home screen of the iPhone when the passenger is close to the airport.

In addition, KLM will make use of Passbook in its upcoming mobile booking campaign. Mobile bookers will receive a gift voucher for free access of the KLM lounge at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Upon arrival at the airport Passbook will notifty the customer to make use of the voucher.
