KLM allows passengers to use mobile phones after landing

Summary

As of today, KLM will allow passengers to use their mobile phones and tablets in transmission mode after landing at their destination.

Passengers will be allowed to call, send text messages or connect to their mobile data network from the aircraft while taxiing to the gate. Cabin crew will announce this to passengers after landing.

This privilege will be assessed during a six-month trial. Positive evaluation will result in permanent instatement of this privilege. Since April, KLM has already allowed the use of portable electronic devices (PED) during all flight phases. However, any equipment operating with an antenna must still be set to 'flight mode' whenever the aircraft doors are closed.
